Coral propagation is important because it is a good way in preservation of Wild Life. Cutting the coral into fragments is a way to promote growth for a new colony. It is very important to the sustainability of with the saltwater reef aquarium hobby.

Propagated coral is both useful and beneficial to aquarists because it will serve as a habitat for their fish and it can also be a great way for them to make extra money.

Some hobbyist made a small business for this species. Some of them put a particular type of coral to be sold at Ebay which is a place to buy online, a place to sell, and a place to shop.

It is also necessary to propagate corals because it is more suited to one’s aquarium than the wild collected ones. One advantage of having propagated corals in the aquarium is because it has lesser chance of having parasites and diseases. Pests like acropora eating flat worms, red flat worms, sundial snails, aiptasia anemone, asterina starfish, fireworms, gorilla club and many more are usually found in the wild collected corals and you don’t want to have those in your own aquarium.

It is also important to propagate corals if you do not want to go to the ocean just to pick one up and return it home which will cost you lots of money and effort. This is also beneficial because sometimes if other hobbyist sees your propagated corals, they may want to trade it for something you don’t have.

Coral propagation is the best way to protect corals and also reproduce them. But it is up to the person if they want to do it, if they unsuccessfully done it then it will only be a waste of both time and effort, but if he succeeds, it is definitely a rewarding experience.
